How To Exercise Your Dog – The Fun Way

As we all know pets need exercise just as we do to lead a happy and healthy lifestyle. If you are lucky enough to have a big fenced backyardPet Exercise your biggest problem is solved as you can turn your dog loose for a while or walk your cat (on a leash of course) as you just cannot keep a cat in your own back yard.

We are all looking for ways on how to exercise your dog or cat, just try to work it in with your exercise and make it fun.

In most cities you can find pet parks to exercise pets but I am not a big fan of turning my pet loose here as some dogs are quite aggressive and just won’t get along so they should be on a leash. With my experience it’s not always the other dog that causes the problem, our last pet just would not get along with any other dogs or cats therefore I had to watch him close as he would maybe nip another pet or worse a person.

How to exercise your dog in the backyard is very easy as all you have to do is buy some inexpensive dog exercise equipment. You can start with a tennis ball and just toss it out for your pet to retrieve, they soon catch onto this and will love it. Now if you are not very good at throwing the ball far enough to give him a bit of a run and you some rest you can buy a ball throwing launcher, makes it easier for you and the ball will go further. This is very good exercise for him and you can get your pitching arm in shape.

There are numerous other ways you can exercise your dog,

Special bike leash
Tunnels for him to run through
Electric Treadmill

This is a good start to keeping your dog healthy.

Cats on the other hand can live indoors and can be taught to use the litter box. You can also train them with a collar and leash to walk with you around the block, this little walk would probably be good for everyone involved, sure would not hurt me.

Let me know if you have questions and I will do my best to answer them or if you have suggestions that would help others. Cheers

It is so important for dogs to get exercise. My dog has become quite fat, I am going to try out these tips.

  2. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this website.

It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard
to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and appearance.
I must say that you’ve done a amazing job with this.
In addition, the blog loads super fast for me on Internet explorer.
    Superb Blog!

      Hi Simone
I would be happy to link with you, We love dogs of all sizes and have always owned 1 or 2 dogs all our lives but have been without now for a couple of years only because we are full time RV’ers and it would not be fair to leave them alone in the rv for a few hours at a time – I don’t like to do that. We will most certainly be getting another pekinese when the time is right.
